GAINESVILLE - For the third month in a row, the number of new single-family housing permits issued for unincorporated Hall County last month was in the double-digits.
Ttriple-digit numbers have been the monthly norm for a number of years, but there has been a drop-off this year.
Seventy-nine permits were okayed in July; 95 in June; and, 67 in May.
County officials have been attributing the decline in new home building to the rainy weather we've been having - and not the new residential lot size minimum that was imposed by the county commission in the spring.
