Walker scores 5 TDs to lead No. 1 Buford

HOMER - The Class AA No. 1-ranked Buford football team continued its dominating ways Friday night, whipping Banks County 38-0.

It was the third straight shutout for Buford to open the season.

The Wolves (3-0, 2-0 in Region 8-AA) got going early behind Darius Walker, who scored five touchdowns - four in the first half.

Walker scored on runs of 5 yards twice, 10, 13 and a a nifty 64-yard run on the opening play of the second half.

Walker finished with 157 yards rushing on just 14 carries and caught five passes for another 90 yards.

Buford will play host to Greater Atlanta Christian next week. The two teams played for the Class AA state title last year.

Banks (2-2, 2-2) travels to Apalachee next week.
