GHS inches closer to top spot in Class AAA

ATLANTA - Gainesville climbed to No. 2 in the latest Class AAA AP football poll.

The Red Elephants moved up depsite being off last week. The Elephants (2-0) moved up following Washington County's loss last week.

Hart County climbed to No. 4 in Class AAA. North Hall and Johnson each received votes in the poll.

Buford, meanwhile, continues to hang on to the No. 1 spot in the Class AA poll after whipping Rabun County last week, 52-0. Rival Greater Atlanta Christian is No. 3.

In Class A, Commerce drooped all the way down to No. 8 after losing to Morgan County 35-7 last week. The Tigers, however, were without their starting quarterback.

In Class AAAA, South Forsyth received two votes.
