Qualifying begins Monday in Hall for city elections

UNDATED - Candidates can begin qualifying Monday for the city elections to be held in Hall County November 4.

In Gainesville, the city council seats that are to be voted on this year are those now held by Bob Hamrick, Sissy Lawson, and Myrtle Figueras. Also in the city, a school board election will be held. The posts now occupied by Willie Mitchell, Lee Highsmith, and Frank Harben will be on the line. Qualifying will be held at city hall beginning Monday morning and ending Wednesday afternoon.

In Lula, the council seats now occupied by Mike Ostrander, Perry Bridgeman, and Lamb Griffin will be up for grabs. Candidates can qualifying at city hall during regular business hours between Monday morning and Friday afternoon.

In Oakwwod, the council posts to be voted on are now held by Montie Robinson, Tom Adams, and Martha Collins. Candidates can qualify at city hall during business hours between Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon.

Elections will also be held in Gillsville where three council posts are also to be voted on this year: those now held by Keith Segars, Todd Dale, and Richard Ferguson. Qualifying takes place at city hall Monday through Thursday.

In Flowery Branch, Roy Clark and Pat Zalewski are up for re-election to the city council - if they choose to run. Qualifying begins at city hall Monday morning and runs through Friday afternoon.

In Clermont, the city council seats now held by Gaylard Kesler and Teddie Jo Grizzle will be on the ballot as will another council post, which has been vacant since Orville Nolan resigned in May. Candidates can qualify at city hall during business hours between Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon.
