Region 7-AAA gets into full gear; NE Georgia action

OAKWOOD - The West Hall football team will try to regroup after its stunning 7-6 loss against Johnson last week.<br>

The Spartans (0-1, 0-1 in region) will travel to Pickens County Friday in another key Region 7-AAA game. Last year West Hall shut out the Dragons 19-0.<br>
<br>
It's the season-opener for Pickens, who finished 6-4 last season, but lost out in a tiebreaker to Johnson to go the playoffs.<br>

Riverside Military Academy looks to keep the train rolling against Monroe Academy at home Friday.<br>
<br>
The Eagles (1-0) shocked Mount de Sales, a team many considered a possible GISA title contender, last week, 13-7.<br>
<br>
The Mustangs are 0-2 and have been outscored 76-20.<br>
<br>
Riverside beat Monroe 14-7 last year.<br>

In Region 7-AAA, East Hall will travel to Chestatee; Flowery Branch will play host to North Hall; defending Region 7-AAA champ Gainesville will play host to White County and Gilmer will travel to Fannin County.<br>

In area action, Habersham Central will play at Loganville; North Forsyth will travel to rival Forsyth Central; Athens Academy will entertain Dawson County Jefferson is at Union County; Commerce will travel to Franklin County and Lumpkin County will play host to Armuchee<br>

Chamblee will play at South Forsyth; Andrews, N.C. will travel to Towns County; North Gwinnett will play host to rival Collins Hills; Haynesville, N.C. will play at Rabun County; Stephens County will entertain Cartersville; Winder-Barrow will be at Eastside-Covington and Apalachee will travel to Grayson.
