Gaineville fast-food restaurant robbed

By by Ken Stanford
GAINESVILLE - No one was injured in a robbery Wednesday night at the Dairy Burger on Athens Street in Gainesville.

Lt. Gary Entrekin of the Gainesville Police Department says officers got the call about 10:00.

Lt. Entrekin says employees told officers they were cleaning up after closing and were taking trash outside when they were approached by a man who forced them back inside at gunpoint.

The gunman demanded money and the keys to an employee's car then fled in the car, which was found about 20 minutes later in a parking lot on Purina Drive.

Tracking dogs from Lee Arrendale State Prison in Alto were used to try to locate the suspect but were unsuccessful.

The robber was described as black, 6'2", weighing about 180, and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and a "Scream"-type Halloween mask.
