Big jump in new home permits in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE - Single-family home construction in the city of Gainesville received a shot in the arm last month.

Gainesville/Hall County Building Inspection Services said during September there were 32 permits issued for new, single-family homes and another 41 okayed for "attached" single-family homes.

That almost totals the number of single-family home permits issued in the county, which normally far outnumbers the city. Eighty-five were okayed for unincorporated Hall County duirng September.
