JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI - One of three finalists for president of North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega is also a finalist for another college presidency.

David Potter currently serves as Commissioner of Higher Education in Mississippi, a job he has held for about 18 months.

Potter and two others, one from Texas and the other from Colorado, were announced Wednesday as the three finalists for the job at North Georgia. A decision on a successor to Nathaniel Hansford, who is retiring, is expected November 17 from the Georgia Board of Regents.

He is also a finalist for president of the University of North Alabama.

Potter is already planning to resign his current position December 31.
