GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Board of Education is reviewing eight candidates for the job of Deputy Superintendent - a person who will be groomed to replace retiring Superintendent Dennis Fordham.
Dr. Fordham says most of the candidates are from Georgia - six are from in-state and two from out-of-state.
Dr. Fordham says the group includes seven men and one woman, most of them from outside the Hall County School System. He says it's "certainly possible" that the board will be ready to make a decision in January.
The board is expected to meet in special session next Wednesday to discuss the position and, Dr. Fordham said, could possibly discuss it again during the January 3 work session.
