GAINESVILLE - The South Hall land condemnation hearing - originally scheduled for Monday - is now set for the week after Christmas.
Hall County Superior Court Judge John Girardeau has rescheduled the hearing for December 28.
At issue is the county's attempt to condemn more than 300 acres on Union Church Road for park land. The owners sought the court's intervention in a motion filed last Tuesday.
A hearing on that motion was held Thursday at which Girardeau ruled that the condemnation hearing could not proceed as planned and might be rescheduled for a date near Christmas.
In addition to setting a new date for the hearing, Judge Girardeau's order moves the hearing from the courthouse annex to the Hall County Courthouse, Courtoom #3. It will begin at 10:00.
