802nd expected back in U-S Saturday

GAINESVILLE - Members of Gainesville's 802nd Ordnance Company - an Army Reserve unit that deployed to Kuwait about a year ago - are due back stateside Saturday.

Maj. Bill Nutter of the Army's 81st Regional Support Command in Birmingham, Alabama, says the 802nd is scheduled to arrive at Hunter Army Airfield near Savnnah Saturday and will then be taken to nearby Fort Stewart before beginning the trip back to Gainesville.

"But, you know, keep in mind, there's always a chance...for delays and flight cancellations," Maj. Nutter cautioned.

Nevertheless, that's welcome news to people like Alisa Grayson, who says she's been lucky that she's had frequent phone conversations with her husband, Sgt. Gerald Grayson.

"You know, you can hear that voice, but...him not being here, that was the hard part," Grayson said.
