GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville-Hall County Junior League wants every elementary school student in Hall County to be able to experience the victory of a conquered villain, the thrill of a mystery solved and the
joy of a happy ending.

That's why its members are sponsoring Cover to
Cover, a community-wide book drive to benefit Hall County and Gainesville City elementary schools media centers.

"It was brought to the attention of our Board that because of increased growth, new school openings and school reorganizations, many local elementary schools have library
lending levels below what they should be based on the number of students in that school," said Kim Hunter, president of
the Gainesville-Hall County Junior League. "We wanted to find a way meet this need and thought an area-wide book
drive would bring the whole community together to help increase the number of books available to local school children."

The Cover to Cover campaign will take place April 13 - 23.

Book drop off sites include Chapter 11 Books & Music on Thompson Bridge Road, all Hall County Circle M Food Shops (located at Hwy. 365 in Lula; near Royal Lakes in Chestnut
Mountain; on Thompson Bridge Rd. in Gainesville; and at Quillian's Corner), the Atrium at the Hall County Courthouse, and the Junior League office on Oak Street.

Donations can include new and/or gently used books, as well as monetary donations. Chapter 11 Books & Music is offering special discounts on books purchased for the Cover to Cover
campaign. Tax receipts are available for donations at the Junior League office.

All of the books collected will be given to local schools; those books that are not used in the media centers will be given to students who don't have any reading material at home.
