GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Board of Education is scheduled to tentatively adopt its new budget Tuesday - and with it a possible increase in the tax rate.
The board will be meeting in special session at 5:30 at the government/education building on Green Street to consider adoption of the $152 million spending plan.
School officials have said in recent months a tax rate increase may be needed to fund the budget - citing, among other things, continued cuts in state funding for public education.
