By by Ken Stanford
FLOWERY BRANCH - Flowery Branch continues to grow - with three annexation requests totaling about 160 acres scheduled to be considered by the city council early next month.

All three applications also involve rezoning requests.

The largest of the tracts consists of nearly 67 acres and is located at Atlanta Highway and Martin Road. The owners - listed as Wiley S. Black, Jesse M. Black, Jr., North Georgia Freezer, Inc., and Walter P. Frobos - want the property rezoned from Agricultural Residential (AR-III) and Highway Business (HB) to Commercial Business (CB) and Light Industrial (M-I).

Light Industrial is also the requested zoning for 33 acres on Flowery Way, owned by Eleanor Dunlap, and now zoned AR-III, and 60 acres on Wade Orr Road, owned by Dr. M.O. Tomeh, also currently zoned AR-III.

The annexation and rezoning requests are to be considered by the Flowery Branch City Council August 9 at 6:00 p.m.
