Oakwood intersection closed Thursday for traffic light repair

OAKWOOD - Traffic was stopped for hours at the intersection of Mundy Mill Road and Atlanta Highway after DOT crews repaired a downed traffic light Thursday afternoon.

Spokeswoman Teri Pope says a construction grader ran into the support pole just before 1:00pm.

"Contractors were grading for the new Wallgreens at this intersection and accidentally hit the support pole." She said. "It broke the pole and so the signals then hit the asphalt."

The intersection was reopened shortly after 4:00pm.
