Hall County receives $$$ for homeless

GAINESVILLE - Hall County is one of 12 northeast Georgia counties sharing in federal Homeless Aid grants totaling $153 million.

Hall is getting more than $65,000 dollars from the from the National Board of the Emergency Food and Shelter (EFS) Program.

The money is to be used by social service agencies to help feed and shelter the homeless.

More than 2,500 cities and counties nationwide are getting some of the money.

EFS funds are used to supplement food, shelter, rent, mortgage and utility assistance programs for people with non-disaster related emergencies.
