UNDATED - People in at least two counties in northeast Georgia are keeping a close eye on an outbreak of flu just across the Tennessee-Georgia state line.
Schools closed for two days recently in Polk County, Tenn., because of high absenteeism blamed on the flu. Polk County is just across the state line from Fannin and Gilmer counties in Georgia.

The situation was described as "pretty bad" by a spokeswoman for the Polk County Sheriff's Office who talked to the Georgia News Network. She said both students and teachers have been affected.

A number of other counties in Tennessee have also been grappling with outbreaks of the flu.
