LLRC open house Saturday during Rubber Duck Derby

By by Ken Stanford
GAINESVILLE - Lake Lanier Rowing Club (LLRC) will host an open house Saturday at the Lake Lanier Olympic Center for prospective rowers of any age - but especially teenagers.

The open house will be held in conjunction with the 7th Annual Rubber Duck Derby, which will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hall County.

The rowing club also plans a Hall County Fall Championship rowing event this fall, whose participants will be teenaged rowers - and partly consist of those who have not yet learned to row.

The boat ramp at Clarks Bridge Park will be closed on Saturday - for the duck derby. The boat ramp and parking lot will re-open Saturday afternoon at the conclusion of the duck race which begins at 1:30. The grand prize is a pontoon boat.

Other activities at the Olympic center Saturday include Family Fun Day, the Fun Race for the Richardson Racing League for Middle School aged athletes and the regular Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club Racing Team Saturday morning time trial.
