Three Hall burglary suspects in custody

GAINESVILLE - Three men are in custody on burglary charges stemming from two unrelated weekend incidents in Hall County.

A sheriff's department spokesman said Sunday the burglars were surprised by returning homeowners about noon Saturday at a house on Dawsonville Highway and about four hours later at a house on Elmer Truelove Road.

One man, 41-year-old Stanley Page of Gainesville, was arrested in connection with the first break-in. He was picked up after fleeing the scene in a pickup and later returning , apparently to try to find the two men who were with him who had fled on foot into nearby woods. The spokesman says some of the items taken in the break-in were found in Page's truck.

Two men were taken into custody in the second incident: 25-year-old Richard A. McGaha of Bogart and 40-year-old David L. Thomas of Gainesville. They were captured after a search that included the use of tracking dogs. Both had been spotted running from the house, according to the sheriff's office.
