Oakwood bank closing

OAKWOOD - Oakwood is losing one of its banks.

The SouthTrust branch is closing as part of the merger of SouthTrust and Wachovia, according to the Wachovia Web site.

SouthTrust accounts at the Mundy Mill Road bank will be automatically transferred to the Wachovia branch bank located just a few blocks from the SouthTrust site.

The Oakwood office was the only SouthTrust branch in Hall County.

Some other SouthTrust offices in northeast Georgia are also closing, with customer accounts transferred to nearby Wachovia branches.
