Fire destroys mobile home at Chesnut Mountain

GAINESVILLE - Fire destroyed a mobile home at Chestnut Mountain Sunday night, leaving a woman and her three children homeless.

Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle says the fire was on Benefield Road and that the home of Andrea Strickland was 80 percent involved in flames when the first units arrived.

Cagle says the fire started on the stove from food that the youngsters were cooking while Strickland slept on a couch. He says the children woke their mother and the family escaped the flames unharmed.
