State House, Senate Education Committees to meet in Gainesville

ATLANTA - A joint meeting of the Senate and House Education Committees has been scheduled Monday in Gainesville, hosted by the city school system.

The meeting will be gaveled to order at 10:00 a.m. at city school board headquarters on Oak Street.

The morning session will consist of presentations by the Gainesville City School System, State School Superintendent Kathy Cox and Martha Reichrath of the Office of Student Achievement.

The afternoon will be spent discussing pending legislation from the Governor.



The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

9:30 - 10:45 a.m. - Presentation by Gainesville City School System

10:45 - 11:00 a.m. - BREAK

11:00 - 12:00 p.m. - Presentation by Kathy Cox, State School Superintendent and Martha R. Reichrath, Office of Student Achievement

12:00 - 1:00 p.m. - LUNCH (at one of the Gainesville City Schools)

1:00 - 3:00 p.m. - A. Joint Senate and House discussion on pending education legislation
