Elvis is leaving the building -- for good

By by Ken Stanford
CUMMING - For 41 years, the Lantern Inn - which sits just across the Hall-Forsyth County line - has been a favorite restaurant-nightspot for many, but by year's end it will close for good.

It opened in 1965 and for most of that time, the big draw has been Elvis and Patsy - Elvis Presley and Patsy Cline impersonators (owner Mike Jones and his sister, Debbie Jones.)

Sitting on Lake Lanier, the Lantern Inn has also featured a 12-slip dock for patrons who arrive by boat.

According to a Web site posting, the place will close Sunday December 17.
