GAINESVILLE - The number of new housing permits issued in Hall County rebounded last month just as the head of the building inspections department had predicted.
Lamar Carver said a month ago there were a lot of big projects "out there" and builders sometimes pick up only a handful of permits at a time. He also downplayed any notion that the September numbers meant a slowing in the housing market here.
According to the monthly report from Hall County Building Inspection Services, 115 permits for new, single-family homes were issued in October, compared to 66 in September and 137 in August.
