Grand jury expected to name new elections director

By by Ken Stanford
GAINESVILLE - The job of replacing Hall County's retiring Elections Director is expected to pick up steam now that the General Election is over.

Georgia law puts that task into the hands of the Superior Court judges or a county grand jury but Chief Judge C. Andrew Fuller expects the final decision to be made by the grand jury.

He says everything is ready to begin seeking applications for the job which Anne Phillips Lea has held for about 25 years.

Judge Fuller says he hopes to fill the post by the end of the year.
