Flowery Branch water, sewer rates up another 20%

FLOWERY BRANCH - Flowery Branch water and sewer rates went up another 20 percent Wednesday to pay off bonds for wastewater treatment expansion.

That's means there has been a 60 percent increase over the last three years and City Manager Bill Andrew got City Council permission to look for an alternative to raising the rates any further.

"We're looking at the budget from several different angles right now for the future to see if we can structure our revenue differently," Andrew said.

Andrew added water and sewer rates could go up another forty percent to satisfy the bond debt.
