3 Hall firefighters honored

GAINESVILLE - Hall County Fire Services has honored three firefighters for actions they took on two separate occasions in the performance of their duty.

In presenting Lt. Todd Folger with his award, Chief David Kimbrell noted that Folger's heroic actions saved the life of an elderly woman trapped in her burning house on March 3.

Chief Kimbrell said firefighters Tommy Eason and Adam Stephenson were "where they needed to be" when working an off-duty mattress delivery job. Eason and Stephenson arrived at a woman's house last spring to deliver a mattress and immediately found her two-year old child had fallen and struck her head and was not breathing. Chief Kimbrell said they saved her life by opening her airway until an ambulance arrived on the scene.
