Sewage spill in Lula

LULA- The City of Lula reports a minor sewage spill at its Hood Street Pump Station.

City Manager Dennis Bergin says less than one hundred gallons of raw sewage escaped the station apparently because of a mechanical failure.

The mechnical failure was probably caused by a grease buildup resulting from residential discharge.

Bergin says a mechanical contractor is reviewing the operation of the pump station and the city continues to monitor the condition of the station and its performance.
