ATLANTA - The unemployment rate is up a bit in metro Gainesville, but remains unchanged for MOST of northeast Georgia.
State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond says the Gainesville rate has increased a tenth of a percent compared to a month ago and is at 4.1 percent. A year ago, it was 4.3.
No change, according to the department, in the 3.9 percent average rate for the 13-county Georiga Mountains Region, which includes Gainesville.
