Job losses down in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville and each of the metro areas in the state reported a decline in job losses over the past month.

Job losses in the Gainesville metro area are down one percent or, in raw numbers, seven-hundred.

State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond says most of the job losses, statewide, that DID occur were seasonal jobs in trade, services, and construction.

Dalton led the state, percentage-wise, in job losses during the latest tracking period.
