Report: Hall's population tops 165,000

WASHINGTON - The Census Bureau says Hall County's population has probably grown by about 5,000 in the past year, and now totals more than 165,000.

The agency's yearly population estimate puts the number of people living in Hall County at around 165,771. A year ago, it was 160,788.

Gwinnett County again posted the largest increase in the state in raw numbers - roughly 26,000. Gwinnett's estimated population is now pegged at 726,273.

The population of Georgia has topped nine million, according to the estimates, up by 154,477 over last summer's estimate.
