GAINESVILLE - If the first minutes at the Gainesville Civic Center are any indication, its going to be a slow day at the polls today.
The place was virtually empty as polls here and around the state opened at 7:00 for the primary runoffs.
Hall County Elections Director Anne Phillips Lea has said interest in the GOP state Senate race will probably mean a better turn out here than the 10 percent or so predicted statewide.
That race is the only local contest on the ballot and there are just a handful of statewide races on the Democratic and Republican ballots.
