City Manager Stan Brown he would put demographics into the mix when looking at future development.

"It gives us something that we can look at when we're talking to landowners and developers to discourage or encourage other type developments," Brown said.

School Superintendent Will Schofield said he liked Oakwood's focus on commercial and industrial growth, growth that expands the tax base without expanding the county's low income student population.

"Of course we love commercial tax base growth, that's good for us," Schofield said. "Commercial growth involves an increase in the digest and that's always good news for a school system."
