FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS - Darren McFadden's SEC-record rushing total overshadowed a few other milestones on the night for Arkansas' sensational backfield.<br>

McFadden and Felix Jones both surpassed 1,000 yards for the second straight season during Saturday night's win over No. 23 South Carolina. No other Southeastern Conference duo had done it two years in a row.<br>

Also, Arkansas' 541 yards rushing was the second-highest total in school history.<br>
<br>
``We've got the best backfield in the nation,'' Jones said. ``I believe that.''<br>
<br>
McFadden's 357 all-purpose yards set a school record to go along with his SEC-record 323 yards rushing. Jones' 163 yards rushing set a career high.<br>
<br>
McFadden moved from No. 10 to No. 5 on the SEC's career list, passing Auburn's Carnell Williams, Kentucky's Sonny Collins, Florida's Emmitt Smith, LSU's Charles Alexander and LSU's Dalton Hilliard. McFadden now has 4,076 yards rushing for his career.<br>

Arkansas caught a break in the first quarter when McFadden fumbled after running 13 yards. Players tried to fall on the ball, but after a brief pause it squirted free. The Razorbacks' Peyton Hillis picked it up and ran 14 more yards to the South Carolina 32.<br>

The Gamecocks attempted 16 passes in the first quarter and only five runs. They fell behind 21-3, then began trying to establish the running game. Cory Boyd ran for 94 yards and a touchdown on the night.<br>

Briefly ... Arkansas honored seniors before the game, the last of the season in Fayetteville. ... South Carolina QB Blake Mitchell made his first start since Sept. 22. ... Mike Davis' 57-yard reception in the third quarter was South Carolina's longest offensive play of the season. ... The Gamecocks paid tribute to the victims of last weekend's beach house fire in North Carolina, wearing a helmet sticker with a line from the South Carolina alma mater. They will wear the decal the rest of the season. Six of the students killed in the fire were students at South Carolina. A seventh attended Clemson.
