CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Tyler Hansbrough scored 15 of his 23 points in the first half and No. 1 North Carolina routed Division II Shaw 114-62 in an exhibition game Saturday night.<br>

Hansbrough was 7-for-8 shooting and made 9 of 11 free throws, and Deon Thompson had 17 points and 10 rebounds in his debut as one of the players in the mix to replace first-round draft pick Brandan Wright.<br>

Wayne Ellington had 12 points and Ty Lawson and Alex Stepheson added 10 apiece for the Tar Heels, who forced the Bears into 26 turnovers and scored 37 points off those miscues.<br>

Damola Obadina and Camontae Griffin had 14 points each for Shaw, which offered North Carolina significantly more resistance than it did two nights earlier against Duke which led 68-17 at halftime of a 134-55 exhibition blowout.<br>

This time, the Bears trailed just 53-38 with about 14 minutes remaining before the Tar Heels responded with a 38-11 run during the next 8 minutes.
