Georgia signs Serbian forward, third pickup of early period

By The Associated Press
ATHENS - Georgia picked up its third player of the early signing period, landing 6-foot-9 Serbian forward Drazen Zlovaric on Saturday.

Zlovaric came to the U.S. as an exchange student in November 2006 and spent his junior season at Cleveland (Tenn.) High School, where he averaged 20.1 points and 11.3 rebounds.

He is attending Sagemont Upper School in Weston, Fla., this year.

``We're just ecstatic to add another outstanding player in Drazen to our growing team,'' coach Dennis Felton said. ``At 6-9 he has tremendous size, length and athleticism for the (small forward) position, and I love the way he plays with great energy all the time.''

Zlovaric was Georgia's third signee of the weeklong early period, joining a couple of players from closer to home: 6-8 forward Howard Thompkins of Lithonia and 6-0 guard Dustin Ware of Powder Springs.
