Nettes hold on to beat North Hall

JASPER - The Pickens girls basketball team built a 27-point lead but had to hang down the stretch to beat North Hall 76-71 Tuesday night in Region 7-AAA action.

The Nettes (2-2) led 31-15 in the first quarter and looked be cruising to the easy win.

But North Hall (0-1) scored 24 points in the third quarter and 21 in the
fourth quarter to cut into the lead and got as close as three points in the final minute.

Pickens hit several late free throws down the stretch to preserve the victory and finished 20-of-26 from the line for the game.

Lindsey Logan lead all scorers with 24, Lindsey Hammontree added 16, Jenna
Jarrett 14 and Jazmine Goss had 10 for the Nettes.

North Hall was led by Leteicia Davenport with 21, including 11 in the fourth quarter run, and Elizabeth williams who had 18, including four 3-pointers.
