GAINESVILLE - Veteran Hall County sheriff's captain Avery Niles was sworn in Thursday night as warden of the Hall County Corrections institution.

As county commissioners, friends and relatives looked on, Niles received the oath from Chief Circuit Judge Andrew Fuller.

"I just thank you for the confidence you all have entrusted in me and I just ask for your prayers and your thoughts," Niles said.

Niles rose through the ranks at the Sheriff's Department and operated the county detention center when he was chosen as Hall County's corrections warden.
