Buford family treated for carbon monoxide poisoning

By The Associated Press
BUFORD - Six members of a Buford family were being treated at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville early Monday for carbon monoxide poisoning.

Gwinnett County Fire Department spokesman Captain Tommy Rutledge say the six -- ages 17 months to 30 years old -- were all conscious and were taken by ambulance to the hospital.

He says firefighters found the pilot light out on stove in the kitchen. They shut off the gas supply and notified the gas company.

Firefighters answered a call to the home at #1 Boulder Way in Buford around 2:30 Monday morning.

He says the amount of carbon monoxide found inside the home was ``extremely high.''
