A shrinking exit ramp

OAKWOOD - Work on reconstructing the Exit 16 interchange in Oakwood is causing more headaches for motorists.

State DOT says work crews have had to eliminate one of the lanes on the southbound exit ramp.

The ramp used to have two left-turn lanes and one for right turns. Now, one of the left-turn lanes has been eliminated and it's expected to be that way for at least six months.

Crews had to narrow the end of the ramp at Mundy Mill Road in order to have room for a new and wider exit ramp, according to DOT officials.
