WASHINGTON - For the second time in as many months, there's word of a multi-million dollar federal grant for a Gainesville-based HeadStart program.
The latest grant for Ninth District Opportunity, totaling $4.6 million, was announced Tuesday by Sens. Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson.
It comes on the heels of a $5.1 million outlay announced in February.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Region IV Office for Children and Families will distribute both grants.
