New homes, funeral home, industrial tracts on HCPC agenda

By by Ken Stanford
GAINESVILLE - A rezoning request for 518 acres in East Hall is on the Hall County Planing Commission agenda next week - as are rezoning requests involving new homes and a funeral home.

The East Hall tract is at Cornelia Highway and White Sulphur Road.

It is now zoned for residential and industrial purposes. However, the applicant - WW365, LLC - wants it rezoned just for industry but says there are no "specified" plans for the land at this time.

NEW HOMES

Also, on the planning board's agenda is a piece of "old business" - Danny Scroggs' request to rezone 77 acres on Clarks Bridge Road at Bogus Road for a 54-lot subdivision. Two other subdivision requests are to be considered, for six lots each: one from Dingess Properties, LLC, on six acres on Looper Lake Road near Cottonwood Drive and one from Norvin and Leslie Ona for a gated 25-acre development on Elison Farm Road near Cottonwood Drive.

ALSO ON THE AGENDA

Rochester & Associates, Inc., wants 16 acres on Candler Road near Calvary Church Road rezoned for a mixed-use commercial development and Christopher Wimberly is asking that a lot on East Ridge Road at Travis Road be rezoned for a funeral home.

The planners meet April 2 at 5:15 at the Georgia Mountains Center.
