Funeral home in the works for Riverside Dr.

GAINESVILLE - Plans for a funeral home on Riverside Drive in Gainesville and an industrial park on Calvary Church road are scheduled to go before city planners next month.

Both items are on the agenda for the September 11 Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board meeting.

Memorial Park Funeral Home want to open a third location in Hall County... this one on Riverside Drive in the building now housing Providence Church, and is seeking a rezoning the property. It already operates funeral homes on Memorial Park Drive on the west side of Gainesville and in Flowery Branch.

The industrial park would be located on 51 acres on Calvary Church Road at Barber Road. The developers are requesting that that parcel be annexed by the city. The zoning that is being requested is for Light Industrial except for one lot that would be zoned Heavy Industrial.
