Arriale returns to Jazz Depot...Evenings of Intimate Jazz

GAINESVILLE - The Arts Council "Jazz Depot...Evenings of Intimate Jazz" continues on Saturday, January 26, at 8:00 when Lynne Arriale returns to Gainesville.<br /> <br /> Lynne Arriale is described as a composer, leader and pianist "with a singular voice and unmistakable signature sound."<br /> <br /> The Lynne Arriale Trio has had back to back #1 Jazz Week radio hits (Inspiration and Arise), an unprecedented #17 Billboard Jazz chart debut, and #1 on UPI's (United Press International's) top ten jazz CDs of 2003. The trio's previous CD, Inspiration, hit # 1 on The New Yorker Magazine's Best Jazz CD's of 2002 and received the German Record Critics Award for best Jazz CD in 2003 and now, again, in 2007 for their current release, LIVE. <br /> <br /> The remaining 2007-2008 season schedule includes the return of Annie Sellick on February 9. Intimate Jazz newcomers Havana Son plays on March 8 and Rachael Price on April 19. The season closes with a special bonus concert by the US Army Ground Forces Band's The Jazz Guardians on May 16 which will be out of doors at The Smithgall Arts Center.<br /> <br /> Individual tickets are $25 per person.
