Eight people escape burning Buford home unharmed

BUFORD - Eight people escaped unharmed when fire broke out in a house in Buford Sunday morning.

Gwinnett County firefighters arrived at the Diggers Way residence to find two vehicles burning in the driveway and heavy fire in the attic above the garage of a single-story house.

Capt. Tommy Rutledge said the fire appears to have started in one of the vehicles and extended to the house.

The blaze destroyed both vehicles and caused significant damage to the attic above the garage area.

The call came in shortly after 7:00.
