Saturday's girls basketball round-up

WREN, S.C. - Brooke Bryant scored 20 points and Ashley Harris added 17 to lead the Class AAA No. 3 Franklin County to a 62-43 win on the road Saturday night.

The win for the Lady Lions (19-1) came one night after Elbert County handed them their first loss of the season.

Franklin County, last year's state runners-up, will play host to Apalachee next Friday before finishing the regular season with three straight Region 8-AAA road games against Hart County, Oconee County, and a rematch with Elbert County.

GAINESVILLE - Lakeview Academy opened strong and never looked back in taking a Region 8-A win at home.

Sophomore Louisa Jacobs led the Lady Lions with 14 points. Maddie Haymore added 12 points for Lakeview.

CUMMING - The Lady Trojans completed a very successful week with their fourth straight win in a Region 7-AAA cross-over game.

Senior Letiecia Davenport poured in 27 points to lead North Hall (14-6) and Elizabeth Williams added eight points and nine assists.

North Hall will travel to Chestatee Tuesday looking to avenge an earlier loss to the Lady War Eagles. The Lady Trojans have a tough finish with games against defending Class AAA state champion East Hall and current Class AAA fifth-ranked Gilmer on the road.

North Hall beat Gilmer during their current win streak 55-40 at home.
