Bid okayed for Veterans Park

LULA - Construction could begin before Christmas on the new Veterans Park in downtown Lula.

City Manager Dennis Bergin says the low bid was awarded Monday morning to Wesley Brothers. The decision was made at a special called meeting of the Lula City Council.

"The amount was $357,000, which actually had a change order that reduced the cost by $115,000," said Bergin. He commented that construction could begin in the next two weeks.

The Veterans Park will be located at the corner of Athens and Main Streets in Lula.
