GAINESVILLE - The Chestatee boys basketball team tuned up for the Lanierland Tournament with a 76-43 win over Landmark Christian Tuesday night at the Chestatee gym.
The War Eagles (3-1) had four players in double figures, paced by Branden Jovaag's 18 points. Lamar Brooks had 11 points and Jackson Chandler and Brantley Beck each had 10 each for Chestatee.
Ladmark (0-4) led 4-2 early on but Jovaag hit the first of his three 3-pointers to give Chestatee a 5-4 lead. The War Eagles would never trail again as they finished the first quarter with a 16-7 lead.
Chestatee led 30-20 at halftime and then blew the game open with a 23-8 third quarter to run out to a 53-28 lead.
"I thought we played much better than we did last week," Chestatee coach Russ Triaga said. "We shot the ball a lot better and I think we'll be ready for Lanierland."
Elijah Greenwood led Landmark with 14 points.
