FLOWERY BRANCH -- The Gainesville girls basketball team held Flowery Branch to 10 points or less in every quarter in taking an impressive 59-30 win in Region 7B-AAA action Tuesday night.
Hailey Solomon paced the Lady Elephants (19-5, 9-0 in subregion) with 14 points and four rebounds. Jaymee Carnes added 12 points and seven rebounds, and Kiana Glasper had seven points and six assists for Gainesville, which had 10 different players score.
The Lady Elephants led 18-7 after the first quarter outscored the Lady Falcons 16-10 in the second quarter to take a 34-17 lead into halftime. Gainesville held Flowery Branch to just five points in the third quarter in putting the game away.
Jessica Hart led Flowery Branch with 12 points.
