Chestatee girls rally past Rabun Gap (2/29)

DILLARD - Chestatee scored two second half goals to take a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Rabun Gap Friday night in girls soccer action.

It was the second straight road win for the Lady War Eagles.

Rabun Gap (0-1) took an early lead of a fast strike from Jazmyn Williams when she beat the Chestatee defenders on the right flank.

Daniela Sotelo tied the game moments later for Chestatee (2-2) after beating the keeper to Megan Fligg's cross into the box. Rabun quickly gained the lead before half when Jesse Greener converted a penalty kick.

In the second half, Fligg, who pounded keeper Autumn Walton with 9 shots on goal in the first half, finally ripped one past Walton early in the second period to tie the game.

Chestatee got the game-winner Kelsey Neukum received a pass from Morgan Dooley and lofted a high shot from 20 yards out.

The Lady War Eagles outshot Rabun Gap 19-7 for the game and had five corner kicks to Rabun's none.

Chestatee will get to work in Region 7-AAA next week with games against Lumpkin County, Gilmer, and West Forsyth.
